Sean Shahkarami has been working as a programmer for the Waggle team at Argonne National Lab since January 2016.  Spending most time trying to improve the platform and data pipeline, but typically works on many different things in a given week.

Before coming to Argonne, Sean completed his Master’s degree in Mathematics and his undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Computer Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. His interests span a few areas including partial differential equations, numerical methods, symplectic geometry, classical mechanics, algebraic topology and probability.

Along side this, he has been programming since his early years and has tried to merge these skills with more academic interests. To this end, Sean had the great opportunity to run a two week workshop on computing with Python for fellow mathematics graduate students.
